What to Pack for a Weekend Outdoors

Wondering what to pack for a weekend in the outdoors? I’ve been through the outdoor packing process a few times, and have been preparing for my upcoming “weekend in the woods” where I’ll be attending the “Becoming an Outdoors Woman” workshop in Ocala, FL. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission offers this particular workshop series for women twice a year — once in March in Ocala and once in October in West Palm Beach.

Just like everyone else, when it comes time to pack for an extended weekend away, I’m always concerned that I’ll forget to pack something or leave something important behind. Thankfully, I came across the below outdoor weekend packing checklist. I’ve found that running through this list at least a week in advance of a trip has been a huge help. You can just print this list out or email it to yourself for easy reference.

  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Brush or comb
  • Rain jacket
  • Flashlight
  • Sunscreen
